-Report: Owners Refuse Meeting After Players Won't Agree To 50-50 Split-
As reported by Ken Berger of CBSSports.com, the league office which represents NBA owners would only agree to meet Monday if the players union signaled its agreement to a 50-50 split of revenues prior to any meeting between the two sides.
The players refused and no meeting between representatives of the owners and players on Monday was scheduled
Monday is the date that commissioner David Stern set for canceling the first two weeks of the regular season schedule if a new collective bargaining agreement is not in place.
"This just confirms what we suspected all along," a union source told Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. "The NBA was never serious about negotiating until guys missed checks."
However, later in the day Friday, the NBA's deputy commissioner Adam Silver said the league would in fact agree to meet the union to discuss the other points that need to be resolved.
"What we told the union was that we were not prepared to negotiate over the BRI split beyond the 50-50 concept that had already been discussed," Silver told the New York Times. "We were prepared to continue negotiating over the many other issues that remain open."

Ci sono riusciti del tutto. Ora la parte dei cattivi è dei giocatori. Mentre prima era ovvio chi fosse il cattivaccio che non voleva la NBA, cioè gli owners così sfrontati da voler un taglio di ben 11%, ora sono i giocatori, perchè lo split 50-50 è molto buono e l'offerta c'è, se loro non accettano, passano per avidi e sbruffoni, agli occhi dei fans. 
Scendere dal 53 al 50 sarebbe un taglio di 120 milioni circa. Dal 57 quasi 300 milioni. Nei prossimi 6 anni, qualcosa come 2 miliardi.
E' tanto ma io accetterei. Ma io sono un tifoso e non sono così avido. Tanto li hanno per le palle, e meglio mettersi a novanta ora che quando salteranno gli assegni, e quando succederà, gli animi saranno così caldi che si cadrà in un pessimo accordo, per i giocatori. Magari attorno a quei 47, sempre volui dagli owners.

Quindi la disperazione, per la NBPA, sta arrivando, ma per i proprietari? Perderanno parecchi milioni nel non usare i propri palazzetti e altre attività legate alla squadra. E loro, i poveracci con le tasche bucate, quelli che vogliono più soldi perchè sono in rosso, possono permettersi questo atteggiamento? Si, perchè tanto gli stipendi dei giocatori sono in hold per adesso.
Battaglia infinita, che vinceranno di sicuro. Si spera il più presto possibile.
Intanto, si spera che il meeting di lunedì si faccia, per lo meno.
